One of the many things I do for the ACE Hardware stores I manage is to update a local shopping site with products we carry (and I will admit, I tend to be biased and post items I personally like – it’s handy that I happen to enjoy DIY projects, working on cars and making jewelry, so that my customers at least get some variety). But I digress, I was posting items today and came across an all-time favorite of mine, Ball canning jars.

I have a thing for glass: bottles, jars, vases, trinkets, rings, bowls, stained-glass windows, anything Dale Chihuly, old medicine bottles, beach glass, the list goes on and on. So it stands to reason I like canning jars, and being the artist I am, I also like to use things for other purposes than their original intent.

I don’t know about you, but, I loved those guest bloggers last week! Everyone did an amazing job writing and worked hard to give complete and lovely posts! Thank you everyone that participated! I’m back from a week of rest and relaxation. It truly was a time of creative renewal and defined vision. I set out just to take a break from work, but, it ended up being much more and I-more than ever-see the value in resting and re-focusing. This may become a regular thing, so, if you enjoyed the guest bloggers let me know and I’ll work on lining more up for you in the future!

Fact of the Day

There are two more victims of the Coke and Pepsi war. Joan Crawford and Bette Davis had been feuding for years. During the making of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, Davis had a Coca-Cola machine installed on the set due to Crawford’s affiliation with Pepsi. She was the widow of Pepsi’s CEO. Crawford exacted her revenge by putting weights in her pockets when Davis had to drag her across the floor during certain scenes.
